Editorial Backs Proposed Holocaust Center in Teaneck
Some residents have said the center should not be built on public land.

The "community good" of a Holocaust memorial and education center proposed at Andreas Park outweighs opposition to the project, a newspaper editorial published Tuesday says.
"Public space should remain just that – public. But we fail to understand the opposition to a Holocaust memorial and education center in a portion of a Teaneck park," a Record editorial states.
Opponents to the project have argued that the center should not be built on public land and would damage the environment at the riverfront park.

In the editorial, the newspaper notes many young people have little understanding of the Holocaust.
"The Holocaust was not a private event. A Holocaust memorial and education center in a portion of public park is not inappropriate." the editorial said.
