A Public Service Electric and Gas contractor hit a gas main near Queen Anne Road and Colonial Court, prompting authorities to temporarily block traffic in the area, according to a company spokeswoman.
PSE&G spokeswoman Annette Hicks said crews remained at the scene around 3:30 p.m. and work was expected to be completed within a few hours. The contractor was working on installing new utility poles in the area.
