Holy Name Earns Top Ranking for Quality

Teaneck hospital is one of two to be recognized in Bergen County.

Holy Name Medical Center has become one of two Bergen County hospitals to earn a top ranking for quality by an independent accreditation agency, according to a news release issued Thursday.

The Joint Commission named Holy Name as one of the “Top Performers on Key Quality Measures” in the nation for 2011, the hospital said. Specifically, Holy Name was recognized for heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care.

“The Top Performers on Key Quality Measures program is an important initiative because it provides transparency to the public,” Holy Name Medical Center President/CEO Michael Maron said in the release. “We understand that what matters most to patients is safe, effective care. That’s why Holy Name has made a commitment to accreditation and positive patient outcomes through evidence-based care processes. We are proud to be among The Joint Commission’s top performers.”

Fourteen hospitals in New Jersey received the top performer designation.

“To be recognized as a top performer, a hospital must meet or exceed 95 percent performance thresholds for its composite performance on all reported accountability measures, as well as its performance on every single accountability measure for which it reports data to The Joint Commission,” the release said.
