Holy Name’s Physician Network Continues Expansion

New physician leadership and providers join health system

Holy Name, the region’s leading independent health system, today announced it is adding eight new healthcare professionals to its Holy Name Physicians, bringing the network to include more than 400 providers with locations throughout Northern New Jersey.

“This expansion directly addresses the increasing healthcare needs of the community and reinforces Holy Name’s commitment to providing high-quality inpatient and outpatient care,” said Dr. Vasantha Kondamudi, executive vice president and chief medical officer at Holy Name. “With a diverse range of expertise, the new providers will foster innovation and bring fresh perspectives, leading to improved outcomes for patients.”

Amrita Chawla, MD is a gastroenterologist who provides compassionate, evidence-based care that empowers patients and improves their quality of life. She earned her medical degree from New York Medical College and completed her residency and fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. Dr. Chawla’s research has been published in leading journals including Surgical Endoscopy, Gastroenterology, the American Journal of Gastroenterology and the Journal of Molecular Biology. Dr. Chawla is proud to practice at Holy Name, where patients receive state-of-the-art care from professionals dedicated to their health.

Amalia Gonzalez-Tineo, DO is an obstetrician/gynecologist whose care philosophy centers on compassion, empathy and respect for the whole person. A graduate of the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine, she completed her residency at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in New York, where she served as administrative chief resident. Dr. Gonzalez-Tineo is dedicated to empowering patients by honoring their backgrounds, cultures and experiences, and she values the trusted relationships she builds throughout their care journey. She feels privileged to support women during some of life’s most meaningful and vulnerable moments.

Imran Khan, MD is a nocturnist hospitalist with over 15 years of experience in academic and community hospitals across New Jersey. His philosophy centers on a holistic, patient-centered approach that prioritizes each individual’s needs, values and preferences. He combines evidence-based medicine with compassionate care, fostering open communication and collaboration with patients and their families. Dr. Khan earned his medical degree from Karachi Medical & Dental College in Pakistan and completed his internal medicine residency at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. He finds the greatest reward in helping patients recover from acute illness and values the gratitude shared by patients and families during challenging health crises. He is proud to practice at Holy Name Medical Center, recognized for patient-centered care, cutting-edge technologies and culture of innovation.

Nicole Palomar, MD is a compassionate OB-GYN providing evidence-based care in Teaneck and Rutherford, NJ. She is proud of the trusted relationships she has built with patients over the years. Dr. Palomar earned her medical degree from De La Salle Health Sciences Institute in the Philippines and completed her internship and residency at Jersey City Medical Center. Her special interests include breastfeeding and lactation education as well as menopause care. She is honored to be part of Holy Name, where providers deliver personalized, patient-centered care.

Charles Shieh, MD is a board-certified thoracic surgeon dedicated to providing expert, compassionate care tailored to each patient. He finds the most rewarding part of his work is improving patients’ health and quality of life. Dr. Shieh has a special interest in thoracic oncology and specializes in minimally invasive procedures, including thoracoscopic and robotic lung cancer resections. He is also skilled in advanced diagnostics such as electromagnetic navigational bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound-guided biopsies, and laparoscopic/robotic surgery for esophageal conditions. He earned his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, completed surgical residencies at the University of Minnesota Medical Center and Lankenau Medical Center, and a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at Yale-New Haven Health.

Sean Stein, MD is an anesthesiologist committed to providing patients with safe, effective care and strives to alleviate patient fears prior to surgery. Dr. Stein earned his medical degree from The University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences in Ohio and completed his anesthesiology residency at the Ohio State University. He is a member of the American Medical Association and American Society of Anesthesiologists.

Misbah Yehah, DO is a general surgeon who takes a whole-person approach to care, considering patients’ medical history, background, cultural norms and life experiences. She completed her residency in general surgery at Bayonne Medical Center in New Jersey and a fellowship in minimally invasive bariatrics, foregut, and abdominal wall reconstruction at Stony Brook University Hospital in New York. Dr. Yehya earned her medical degree from Nova Southeastern University in Florida and pursued additional fellowship training at Holy Name, where she is honored to return to care for patients. She is a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, and the American Medical Association.
