Juveniles Nabbed In Connection With Rash Of Thefts In Bergen County: Police

Police seized two juveniles last week in connection with a rash of thefts from vehicles and criminal mischief in Hackensack.

HACKENSACK, NJ — A rash of thefts from parked vehicles over the past two weeks in Hackensack has led to the apprehension of two juveniles, one of whom was charged with numerous delinquency offenses, police Detective Capt. Michael Antista said Wednesday.

Both juveniles were subsequently released to a parent pending juvenile intake, Antista said.

Police canvassed the area and looked through hours of surveillance footage to obtain leads on possible suspects, and on Aug. 12, detectives positively identified suspects. Officers then surveilled the area of the thefts, specifically a parking garage on Atlantic Street and an adjacent apartment parking lot, police said.
