A response from Teaneck firefighters prevented any major property damage during a fire at a Lucy Avenue garage Saturday afternoon, officials said. 

Utility on the Teaneck-Bergenfield border will not cause any power outages in the township, according to Public Service Electric and Gas.

The Teaneck Police Department is looking for volunteers to join its auxiliary policing program.

Candidates are required to undergo free training at the Bergen County Law and Public Safety Academy in Mahwah, the township said. Classes are held twice a week in four-hour blocks of instruction. A total of 52 hours of initial training is required.
