Man Admits to Six Gas Station Robberies After Being Caught by Teaneck Detectives

More charges pending in case of Ridgefield Park man authorities say committed six robberies.

A Ridgefield Park man has admitted to six gas station robberies in the area after being arrested by Teaneck police early Tuesday morning, authorities said.

Frederick V. Agodon, 33, of Ridgefield Park, was arrested after an armed robbery of an Exxon Station at Teaneck and Fort Lee Roads, police said in a statement.  In that incident, a gas station employee told police a man came in shortly after 10 p.m. Monday asking for change for a $20 bill before pulling a knife and demanding money.  He fled on foot with $150, according to police.

About ten minutes after that report, Teaneck police said they were alerted that a Lukoil station on Queen Anne Road in Bogota had also been robbed.  Reports of the Bogota armed robbery came in around 11 p.m., police said.

Shortly after midnight Tuesday, Detective Sgt. Kenneth Egbert and Detective Christopher Buscavage spotted Agodon walking on Teaneck Road in Ridgefield Park. Agodon matched the clothing description given by the two earlier robbery victims, according to police. Agodon was detained and police found he was carrying a lock blade knife and a large amount of cash, the police statement said.

Agodon faces two counts of armed robbery for Monday's holdup in Teaneck and . He has also admitted to two gas station robberies in Little Ferry, the one in Bogota and one in North Bergen, police said.

The Jan. 6 North Bergen robbery turned bloody when two gas station employees were stabbed, police said at the time. 

North Bergen Police Department spokesman Lt. Frank Cannella said charges were being prepared in that case but declined to comment further. 

Agodon is scheduled to appear in Teaneck Municipal Court Wednesday and bail has been set at $500,000 with no ten percent option, police said.
