Uber Driver Stabbed Repeatedly In Attempted Carjacking: Bergen County Prosecutor

A man stabbed an Uber driver Tuesday and was charged with attempted murder and carjacking, Bergen County prosecutors said.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A man stabbed an Uber driver in Fort Lee on Tuesday morning and tried to take control of the car, prosecutors said.

Marcus N. Marson, 25, of Leonia, has been charged with attempted murder and attempted carjacking, said the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office late on Tuesday.

Prosecutors said that on Tuesday, after 9 a.m., police responded to a stabbing on Duncan Avenue.

The 37-year-old Uber driver was found with cuts on his head and puncture wounds to his shoulder and arm, prosecutors said.

He was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center, where he remains hospitalized in stable condition.

Fort Lee police officers chased and caught up to Marson in a private back yard on Buckingham Road, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors determined that Marson had stabbed the driver and tried to "take custody" of the car.

He was charged with first-degree attempted murder, first-degree attempted carjacking, third-degree aggravated assault, weapons charges, and resisting arrest.

He was taken into custody by the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office to await his first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, prosecutors said.
