Two men were charged after one man tried to convince a UPS driver to give him a package containing an iPhone in Glen Rock.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Two men were arrested in Glen Rock on Thursday after one man tried to convince a UPS driver to give him an iPhone that was being delivered, police say.
John P. Castellano, 50, of Caldwell and Emilio J. Del-Orbe, 26, of New York City, were charged in connection with the incident.
The Glen Rock police said that their officers headed to Ridge Road around 10:26 a.m. on Thursday after a UPS Driver said a man tried to steal a package with an iPhone in it.

The driver said the person claimed he was the intended recipient and wanted to accept delivery of the phone in the street, not at the address.
The UPS driver declined. The man got into a white Jeep and left — but not before the driver got some identifying details to give to police.

Officer Sam Evans stopped the vehicle at Maple Avenue and Cumberland Road, police said.
Police investigated further and brought both men to police headquarters.
Castellano was charged with attempted theft, possession of a weapon (tactical knives) during commission of a crime, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance (anabolic steroids).
Del-Orbe was the driver of the vehicle, police said. He was charged with possession of a weapon (tactical knife) during the commission of a crime, and possession of a fraudulent driver's licence, police said.
He was also issued traffic summonses for driving with a suspended license, operating a vehicle without required mirrors, and failure to maintain lamps, police said. The Jeep was impounded.
Both men were processed and released in accordance with bail reform, police said, to await an appearance before Central Judicial Processing at the Superior Court in Hackensack. The investigation remains ongoing, police said.

During the period between Nov. 18-24, the Glen Rock police handled 422 calls for service, they said.
