No Injuries Reported After Dickerson Road House Fire
Workers heard a pop, saw flames and called 911
A Dickerson Road home is uninhabitable after an attic fire Wednesday afternoon, officials said.
Workers in the house heard a popping sound and saw flames in the attic of the two-story home before calling 911, said Seth Peyser, the homeowner’s brother. The workers were the only people in the house at the time, he said.
Fire Chief Anthony Verley, who was at the scene, said no one was hurt in the fire. Reports of the flames came in at 2:16 p.m. and firefighters arrived just a minute later, he said.

When they arrived, firefighters were met with heavy smoke, the chief said. Fire crews from Hackensack also responded with colleagues from Ridgefield Park and Englewood called to standby in Teaneck.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, Verley said. Residents were not immediately able to return to the home because of the damage.
