NY Man Charged In Teaneck CVS Robbery: Cops

Authorities say Mamady Cisse committed similar offenses in New York and Connecticut.

TEANECK, NJ – A New York man faces charges in connection with a robbery of a CVS Pharmacy in Teaneck.

Mamady Cisse of the Bronx was arrested and charged with robbery, as well as burglary, by Teaneck police following an investigation into the Aug. 23 incident, Chief Glenn O’Reilly said on Friday.

That afternoon around 4:15 p.m., Cisse tried to gain access to a secure pharmacy area of the Cedar Lane CVS through a locked door, but was unable to, the chief said. He then jumped over the pharmacy counter, entered the secured area and stole two bottles of Promethazine/Codeine from the shelf, O’Reilly said.

Cisse then fled in a black Volkswagen bearing fictitious registration, according to the chief.

Further investigation revealed Cissee committed the same offenses in New York and Connecticut, O’Reilly said.

Cisse was remanded to Bergen County Jail pending an initial court appearance.
