Officials, residents came together to honor the nation's military veterans

Teaneck officials, residents and emergency responders gathered Monday at the Municipal Green for the town’s annual Veterans Day ceremony honoring those who served in the U.S. military.

“America is fortunate to have veterans who exemplify commitment to duty, willingness to display valor under fire and favor humility over glory," said the guest speaker, retired Command Sgt. Maj. Arthur G.A. Maggs Jr.

The event also included honors for Teaneck's oldest living veteran, Lou Schwartz, who is 101 years old and served with the Navy in World War II.
