Hearing on Proposed Walgreens To Be Postponed
Residents have raised traffic safety concerns over the proposed drive-through pharmacy

A public hearing on a developer's application to build a Walgreens drive-through on Cedar Lane is set to be postponed until May.
A special zoning board meeting was planned to continue hearing the application, however, an attorney for the developer requested it be postponed to May 16, according to the township.
The zoning board will meet Thursday night to officially carry the hearing.

Walgreens is seeking permission to build at the former Davis Toy Store, Larry's gas station and the closed Louie's Charcoal Pit location.
Residents have raised concerns over the safety of the store's planned drive-through and argued the chain pharmacy was not the right fit for Teaneck's main shopping district.

The project is not without its supporters, including some who say the store would serve as an anchor to encourage other development in the area.
