Reward Offered in Bergenfield Burglary Attempt
Woman confronts would-be burglars after hearing doorbell ring.

BERGENFIELD -- A man broke in the door of a home on Surrey Lane when the resident went to see who was ringing her doorbell late last Wednesday, according to police.
The resident told officers she heard someone ringing the doorbell several times before midnight April 11, police said in a statement. When she went to see who was there, one would-be burglar broke in the front door and partially entered the home before taking off with another man.
Police said the resident saw the pair flee in a gray or silver SUV or station wagon, turn left on New Bridge Road, then head east toward the Teaneck-Englewood area.
