BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A woman drove an SUV through the front of and into the AutoZone store in Hackensack Tuesday night, police said.

Officers found a 2004 Volvo SUV inside the store on Old River Street. The driver, a 52-year-old Hackensack woman, told police she was pulling into the parking lot when she hit the gas pedal instead of the brake pedal and drove into the storefront, said Capt. Nicole Foley.

The SUV stopped inside the store and damaged the front of the store and inside near aisles one, two, and three, Foley said.

The driver, her 35-year-old passenger, and no one in the store were hurt, Foley said.

Members of the Hackensack Building Department went to the store. They determined that the building's structural integrity was not compromised and store managers temporarily secured the damage, Foley said.
