Teaneck’s Cedar Lane Festival To Kick Off Summer Fun

TEANECK, NJ — Teaneck is kicking off the summer with live jazz, pickle-eating competitions and moon bounces at the 20th annual Cedar Lane Family Festival.

On Memorial Day, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., the festival on Cedar Lane will offer an array of activities, and awards presentations to local change-makers and dignitaries, a spokesperson said in a release.

Noted singers Theresa Sareo, Cynthia Soriano, Linda Miller and Shana Farr, and the Teaneck Community Chorus and Thomas Jefferson Middle School's jazz band are performing at the festival, the release said.

In addition, there will be pie- and pickle-eating contests, sponsored by Teaneck's Butterflake Bakeshop and Pickle Licious, respectively, and a special children's area with bounce houses, train rides and face painting.

Contests will follow presentations to several honorees, including town native and Marine Corps veteran Patricia Korczak, local nonprofit founder Theresa Johnston, former mayor Jim Dunleavy, retired police chief Glenn O'Reilly, and others.

Radio host Joey Reynolds will also be a "special guest" at this year's festival, the release said.

Festival-goers can also check out items sold by local artisans and merchants throughout the day.
