Teaneck Man Arrested In 'Execution-Style' Shooting Death: New York DA
"As alleged, this shooting in broad daylight was as brazen as it was cold-blooded and calculated," Queens District Attorney Katz said.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A Teaneck hitman dressed in what was described as traditional Jewish garb was caught on video gunning down another man in broad daylight, according to a report and authorities.
Ron Reeder, 53, of Teaneck, was indicted in connection with the "execution-style murder" in September 2021 in New York, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said Monday.

Reeder, while "wearing a mask and garments typically worn by Hasidic Jewish men," ran up behind another man, who was getting into a car parked on a street in South Ozone Park, and shot him, the DA's office said.
The victim, Jermaine Dixon, 46, was entering a car parked on 132nd Street off of South Conduit Avenue when he was approached and shot, at about 7:50 a.m. Sept. 6. Reeder had allegedly tried to make off with $10,000 in Dixon's pocket — "but ran away before he could grab the cash," the New York Post reported.

Dixon, the New York Daily News reported, had just gotten out of prison less than a year earlier when he was murdered, and he was a former member of the "Patio Crew" drug gang in Brooklyn.
If Reeder is convicted of all related charges, he faces life in prison without the possibility of parole.
“As alleged, this shooting in broad daylight was as brazen as it was cold-blooded and calculated," District Attorney Katz said. "The defendant evaded justice for some time, but the tireless efforts of law enforcement led to his arrest and he will now be held to account for his alleged actions."
Reeder was arrested Feb. 23 at his Teaneck home and arraigned on a four-count indictment, charging him with murder and criminal possession of a weapon. He was ordered to return to court on March 14.
Reeder, the New York Post reported, is also facing weapons, drug, identity theft and financial charges in a separate case in New Jersey.
