Teaneck Man Killed In Garden State Parkway Crash: Police

OLD BRIDGE, NJ - A Teaneck man died Monday in a Garden State Parkway crash in Middlesex County, authorities said.

At around 12:26 a.m., the crash was reported on the Garden State Parkway express roadway northbound at milepost 121.6 in Old Bridge Township, New Jersey State Police Trooper Brandi Slota told Patch.

An initial investigation found that a Jeep Grand Cherokee and a Mini Cooper were traveling north side-by-side on the parkway when a side-swipe crash occurred between the two vehicles, Slota said.

The Mini Cooper struck a concrete barrier and a guardrail before it overturned, Slota added. As a result of the crash, the driver of the Mini Cooper – Gabriel Farias, 39, of Teaneck – sustained fatal injuries, Slota said.

The investigation is ongoing.
