The event is now scheduled for Tuesday at 6 p.m., township officials announced.

TEANECK, NJ — The township's annual Christmas tree lighting has been postponed with rain in the forecast, but don't put that ugly sweater away just yet.

Township residents will have to wait a day for the tree lighting, which has been rescheduled for Tuesday at 6 p.m., and will take place on the municipal green.

The township has partnered with the local PBA for the tree lighting ceremony, which will include the lighting, Christmas carolers, blessings from the local clergy and an “Ugly Sweater contest.”
