Vaccines, Teacher Shortage Highlighted In Superintendent's Report
Teaneck Superintendent Christopher Irving encouraged parents to vaccinate their kids and announced a job fair in this month's report.
TEANECK, NJ — Teaneck Schools Superintendent Christopher Irving highlighted the availability of COVID-19 vaccines for children ages 5-11 and mentioned an upcoming virtual job fair in the November edition of his monthly report.
"The State is encouraging parents to have their children vaccinated against COVID-19 as soon as possible," Irving said in his letter.
Parents can schedule appointments for their children 5 years old and older at Holy Name's Hackensack/Teaneck site, located at 3 University Plaza, Hackensack, by visiting the state's COVID-19 vaccine tracker.

Irving also said that himself and the district's director of community relations have met with officials from New Jersey colleges and universities over the past couple of weeks to "strengthen and expand" the district's university partner network.
"The national teacher shortage is affecting everyone, and this employment challenge is not expected to end anytime in the near future," Irving wrote. "This is why we scheduled time with many Deans of Education (who oversee the educational candidate's pool) about ways we can partner this year and beyond."
