New Jersey State Police have released their Uniform Crime Report for the first two quarters of 2014. According to their reports, Teaneck's overall crime index fell from 410 to 357 in the last year, a 13 percent decrease.However Teaneck saw a 65 percent increase in violent crime. Teaneck police reported 20 violent crimes between January and June of 2013, and 33 such incidents in the same period of 2014.
