3 Injured In Route 37 Crash In Toms River
The crash at Mule Road partially closed Route 37 during the morning commute.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Three people were injured Monday in a rear-end crash that shut down part of Route 37 in Toms River, police said.
The crash was reported at 8:08 a.m. at the intersection of Route 37 and Mule Road, Toms River Lt. Gene Bachonski said.
Soheir William, 78, of Berkeley Township, was stopped in a green 2014 Toyota Sienna in the right lane of Mule Road northbound at the intersection when he was hit from behind by a silver 2020 Honda CRV driven by Barry Grillon, 61, also of Berkeley, Bachonski said.

The collision pushed both vehicles into the intersection of Route 37, Bachonski said.
Grillon complained of abdomen pain and was taken to Community Medical Center, Toms River, for treatment.

William sustained an arm injury but refused transport. William's passenger, Laura Griggs, 67, from Berkeley Township, sustained a back injury and was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.
Grillon was issued a summons for careless driving, Bachonski said.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Freedom Towing.
