Celebrate fall at the Stafford Fall Harvest and Wine Festival

The event is being held Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.. Manahawkin Lake Park will host the Fall Harvest Festival and the wine festival will be held at Heritage Park, with the Old Stone Store and Manahawkin Train Station museums open both days Each site will feature entertainment, food and vendors. There will be shuttle service from the Stafford Township Municipal Complex parking lot at 260 E. Bay Avenue. Shuttles will run continuously throughout the day both Saturday and Sunday. The weekend includes the Halloween parade, hayrides, scarecrow making, pumpkin patch, the famous jalapeno eating contest, classic car show, crafters, food trucks and live entertainment. Tickets to the wine festival are $20 in advance, $25 at the gate if they are not sold out, and include a commemorative wine glass. Click here for ticket information.

Cheer on tug-of-war competitions for Make-A-Wish!

The Manasquan Inlet Intracoastal Tug, presented by Jersey Mike’s Subs, is set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Inlet Drive in Point Pleasant Beach. The event is highlighted by a series of tugs-of-war using a pair of 600-foot ropes linked at the center of the 450-foot-wide Manasquan Inlet. It raises funds for the Manasquan and Point Pleasant Beach Recreation Departments, and will be raising funds for Make-A-Wish New Jersey, whose mission is to create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. The heats throughout the Intracoastal Tug will feature Manasquan/Monmouth County against Point Pleasant Beach/Ocean County with the Mayor’s Trophy presented to the winner. The day’s festivities are free and open to the public, with festivals on both sides of the inlet. There is a rain date of Sunday.

Take in an art show that's marking its 44th year

The "Arts in the Glen" Art Show is set for 1 p.m. Sunday in Cedar Glen Lakes in the Whiting section of Manchester. The show, which has been held for 44 years, will be at Lakeside Hall, 100 Michigan Ave., and includes refreshments and a chance to win a painting. Come seek the works put together by talented local residents.

Put on your dancing shoes for "Not Your Ordinary Dance Party"

Holiday City at Berkeley's Clubhouse 2 will be hopping on Saturday night as Evelyn & Michael Thomas present "Not Your Ordinary Dance Party 6," a four-hour nightclub atmosphere dance party that begins at 6 p.m. Tickets are $20 per person and the event is open to the public. Bring your own drinks and appetizers; water, ice and cups will be provided. Bring the kids to a Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

This family event is Sunday at the Bayville Elks Lodge, 247 Route 9, Bayville. Put on your costume and join Toms River Macaroni Kid and Chubby Penguin for pumpkin decorating, monster cupcakes, Halloween crafts, trick-or-treat stations, and meet Elmo and Salem's three favorite witches from "Hocus Pocus."
