OCEAN COUNTY - A Code Blue Weather Emergency is in effect for Ocean County through Wednesday night, officials said.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures are anticipated to drop into the 20’s Wednesday night. The code blue has been in effect since Monday, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement.

In Ocean County, a code blue declaration is issued when dangerously cold weather threatens individuals or families without shelter. The county provides short-term sheltering in clean, safe locations during the declaration.

According to NJ211, warming center services are available at the Ocean County Board of Social Services (Toms River), Truce Vine Ministry (Bayville), Greater Bethel Church of God (Lakewood) and more.
