Decision Made For Columbus Day Parade In Seaside Heights
The parade is the culmination of the annual Italian Street Festival in Seaside Heights. See how the incoming nor'easter is affecting it.

SEASIDE HEIGHTS, NJ — The 34th annual Ocean County Columbus Day Parade in Seaside Heights has been rescheduled due to the anticipated effects of the nor'easter expected to hit the Jersey Shore over the weekend.
Parade officials made the decision Friday evening after a state of emergency was announced because of the storm. The state of emergency takes effect at 10 p.m. Saturday. The parade now is set for Sunday, Oct. 19, officials said.
Saturday's events for the Italian Street Festival will continue as scheduled from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., the parade committee said.

The festival is held along Grant Avenue and the Boulevard and includes lots of food vendors, live entertainment, and family fun.
Forecasters with the National Weather Service anticipate the storm will primarily affect shorefront communities with significant coastal flooding possible along with beach erosion, but strong wind and heavy rain could have impacts inland as well.
