Controlled Burns Being Conducted In Toms River: NJ Forest Fire Service
The New Jersey Forest Fire Service is conducting the burns at two Ocean County parks to reduce the potential for wildfires.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — The New Jersey Forest Fire Service is planning to conduct controlled burns in Toms River and Beachwood on Tuesday, authorities said.
The Ocean County Sheriff's Office said the burns are at Cattus Island County Park off Fischer Boulevard, and at Jakes Branch County Park in Beachwood.
The controlled burns, also called prescribed burns, are used to remove flammable materials — leaves, brush and such — to help reduce the fuel that feeds wildfires.
