Dedicated In School & To Her Community: Ally, Toms River Star Student

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

This submission comes from Amanda Maisano, who nominated her daughter, Ally, a senior from Toms River.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

Ally is an integral part of her community and always goes above and beyond. As a strong student academically, dedicating much time to school, she makes the time to get involved with her community. Each Saturday she coaches a soccer clinic for girls ages 3, 4, 5 and 6, while always spending her following two hours at Top Soccer. On top of this, she holds a job, is the captain of her club soccer team, an active member in the TEAM organization, served as a senior in charge for Silver Bay Elementary. In addition, she is a dedicated member of her school, being part of the National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, Interact Club, DART Youth Prevention Council, Student Council, Key Club and much more. Ally will always do for others before herself and it is evident in all that she does!

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

Ally does anything for everyone else and expects nothing in return. She is a selfless person and will always be the first person to help others out no matter the case.
