Downed Pole, Wires Force Parkway Ramp Closure In Toms River

The pole was brought down in a crash Friday morning.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — The southbound entrance ramp to the Garden State Parkway from eastbound Route 37 remains closed Friday afternoon due to a crash earlier in the day, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation.

The crash that happened before 8:30 a.m. brought down a utility pole and wires, the NJDOT said on its 511nj.org traffic website.

The closure is just before the ramp southbound and also affects the right lane of Route 37 east.

The westbound lanes are open.

There was no estimate of when the ramp would be reopened.

A request for information about the crash was not immediately answered by the Toms River Police Department.
