"Jim Caldwell — In Depth" explores the life and philosophy of Caldwell, who grew up learning to swim in the Toms River and later became part of the Navy's Underwater Demolition Team divers, the precursor to the Navy Seals, according to Jennifer Suwak, a Manchester native and local historian, and one of the two filmmakers behind Roaming Dingo Productions.

The film primarily looks at Caldwell's journey after his service in World War II, which started with him founding a local dive shop in Toms River to leading an international maritime recovery and cable laying fleet corporation.
