
TOMS RIVER, NJ — Flooding caused by the storm moving through the area has forced the closure of Water Street and Irons Street in downtown Toms River, authorities say.
The Ocean County Sheriff's Office sent an alert warning drivers about the closure.
Flooding also was seen along Route 35 in Ortley Beach. Video posted by Nick Honachefsky on Facebook showed water up to the middle of the tires of vehicles.

The National Weather Service has issued a coastal flood warning for Ocean County through 11 p.m. Thursday.
In addition, runoff from the rain is expected to contribute to localized flooding. The rain was expected to clear off Thursday afternoon.
