Here’s Why Juliet Was Shouted Out As A Toms River Star Student
We all know students who excel in academics, fine arts or volunteer service. Here's one local resident who's having an impact in Toms River.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.
This submission comes from Jackie Leniart, who nominated her daughter, Juliet, from Toms River.
Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?
Juliet, who's a fifth grader, is a very determined young woman. In September 2022 she was crowned U.S. American Miss Preteen NJ. Being a positive role model, showing kindness, and supporting her community have been her focus. Juliet created “anti-bullying gift bags” for her class to promote kindness. She completed a fun run in October to help raise money for the Toms River School District. During the month of November, Juliet collected food donations for Fulfill to be given out to families in need. In December, Juliet went shopping and collected toys for children in need over the holidays. Juliet started her first clothing drive for Your Grandmother's Cupboard in January. All of the clothes donated are given out for free to families in need. Juliet is currently leading a nonperishable food drive for The Hope Center. In addition to helping her community, Juliet is a black belt in karate and won grand champion in the November Kum Sung Karate tournament. Juliet also volunteered her time to help younger kids compete and enjoy the experience.
Juliet is a good student and was chosen to help tutor younger kids at her school. She is a kind-hearted and ambitious young girl determined to make not just in our community but in the world.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?
Juliet will always look for the opportunity to help those in need. She loves to have new experiences and wishes there were more hours in the day so she could do it all.
Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Juliet!
