Here’s Why Mathew Was Shouted Out As A Toms River Star Student
We all know students who excel in academics, fine arts or volunteer service. Here's one local resident who's having an impact in Toms River.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.
This submission is for Mathew of Toms River, who was nominated by a family member.
Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?
Mathew is a mechanic and a senior in high school. He goes to school and then goes straight to work. His work never ends as he has friends and family who ask for help with car problems. He takes a lot of pride in what he does and I am proud of him.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?
How selfless he is.
Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Mathew!
