Island Heights Library Seeking Baby Hat Donations for a Good Cause

ISLAND HEIGHTS – The Island Heights Branch of the Ocean County Library has partnered with RWJ Barnabas Community Medical Center for teen and adult volunteers to make baby hats for the maternity ward. The branch is currently accepting donations of yarn and handmade baby hats to be donated.

You can also learn how to make baby hats at the branch’s following programs:

  • Knitting and Fiber Arts Group
    • Monday, December 29 at 6:30 p.m.
    • Monday, January 26 at 6:30 p.m.
  • Loom Knit Baby Hats
    • Monday, January 5 at 2:30 p.m.
    • Tuesday, February 10 at 2:30 p.m.

Learn how to use knitting looms to make simple and cute baby hats to be donated while earning volunteer hours. These programs are for attendees age 12 and up.

Registration is required for these programs. To register, visit tinyurl.com/KnitOCLIH, call 732-270-6266, or visit the branch at 121 Central Avenue. Registration for each session will open two weeks before the program date.
