Mother Pushing Stroller Hit At Route 166 Intersection In Toms River
The mother was critically injured; her children were taken to the hospital for treatment, Toms River police said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A woman was in critical condition Saturday evening after she was hit by a vehicle while crossing Old Freehold Road at Route 166 with her children, Toms River police said.
The mother, who is in her 20s, was pushing her infant in a stroller and had her 2-year-old son walking with her at about 2:45 p.m. when they were hit, Toms River Police Chief Mitch Little said. They were crossing from the parking lot by Attilio's to the corner of Riverside Cemetery, in the crosswalk, Little said.
The driver who hit them, a man in his 20s, was southbound on Route 166 and turning left onto Old Freehold Road, Little said. The driver told police he turned when he saw a break in the traffic, Little said. The driver said he did not see the woman pushing the stroller.
