Olivia Captures School's Spirit In Pictures: Toms River Star Student
We all know students who excel in academics, fine arts or volunteer service. Here's one who's having an impact in Toms River.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.
This submission comes from Michele and Stephen Padham, who nominated their daughter, Olivia, a senior from Toms River.
Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?
Olivia is a senior at Toms River High School South who has been devoted to promoting the school, the TR South Indians school spirit and her classmates' talents by sharing her own gift for photography. Olivia is a straight-A student, member of the National Honor Society, co-editor of the yearbook, Class of 2023 treasurer on the Student Council, TEAM, girls swim team manager, a member of the Kindness Club and the Student Communication Liason to the Toms River Regional Board of Education, as well as being named class photographer by her senior classmates. Olivia shares the memories she captures with all in the TR South Tribe via Instagram. Olivia has been accepted to Syracuse University with dual enrollment at Margaret J. Whitman School of Management and SI Newhouse School of Public Communications for Fall 2023, for Photography. Olivia is always behind the camera, but with this Star program, she should be the focus for all her efforts in promoting the Indian Spirit of Toms River High School South.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?
Olivia has devoted herself to Toms River South as a student member of the Indian Tribe. Olivia has spent countless hours photographing multiple school events in a day, then spends hours sorting and editing her photographs. Many may not realize the time and effort that is required of Olivia to make moments captured on film into photographs.
Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Olivia!
