Selfless Toms River Mom Teri ‘Stepped In When Nobody Else Would’

TOMS RIVER, NJ— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours.

What makes your mom extra special?

My mom is the most selfless person I have ever met. She constantly sacrifices her time to help others. I have a lot of health issues, and she is at every single appointment with me to support me. She helps me when I am in pain, and even helps with my cat despite her being allergic.

She also took on the selfless act of becoming a guardian for my late elderly uncle and his disabled daughter and stopped them from getting taken advantage of by awful people. She stepped in when nobody else would and spent hours upon hours doing things to make sure they lived with dignity.

There is so much more she has done for me and others, and I can never thank her enough or repay her for all that she has done for me.

Why do you feel your mom deserves the spotlight?

I believe my mom deserves the spotlight due to her selflessness and kindness like no other.
