Special Council Meeting Set In Toms River
The meeting has been scheduled so the council can hold a public hearing on the fire district budget, according to a legal notice.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — The Toms River Township Council has scheduled a special meeting for Wednesday, March 13, according to a public notice published Friday in the Star-Ledger of Newark and the Asbury Park Press.
The notice says the meeting, set for 7 p.m., is to hold a public hearing and vote on the annual budget of Toms River Fire District 2 and to pay outstanding bills.
The fire district budget was posted as a resolution at the Feb. 28 council meeting and voted on, but the council was forced to rescind the vote when resident Dennis Galante pointed out there is a requirement for a public hearing on the budget, which was being reduced by $10,000 after it was rejected by voters in February's fire district elections.
