Court Blotter: Man Indicted on Burglary, Assault Charges
Grand juries hand up indictments against residents

Ocean County grand juries recently handed up the following indictments:
A Toms River man faces several charges after being indicted in connection with an alleged home burglary July 8 in the township.
An Ocean County grand jury returned three charges Thursday against Robert E. Simms of Tolerance Court after finding evidence he allegedly broke into a home on his own block and later assaulted a Toms River officer.

Simms is charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree resisting arrest and fourth-degree aggravated assault for the alleged altercation with Patrolman Eric Harris.
Simms remains lodged in the Ocean County Jail on $15,000 bail, no 10 percent option.

An Adams Avenue man is charged with threatening to kill a Toms River woman.
Chardel J. Holman was arrested on June 19 after putting the woman in "imminent fear of death," according to a grand jury that returned a third-degree terroristic threat charge.
Holman was released on $10,000 bail on June 22.
