Toms River Mom ‘Has An Amazing, Giving Heart’

TOMS RIVER, NJ— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours.

What makes your mom extra special?

My mom is extra special because she is the most selfless and loving person I know. My mom sacrificed a lot in her life so that my two brothers and I could have an amazing life. We grew up in the Bronx, New York, and had very little. But we didn’t know that as children because my mom (and dad) made sure that we always had what we needed without knowing the struggle they were going through.

I watched my mom work for everything that we had. She was a great role model by showing us the importance of working for what we want in life. My brothers and I are successful and have what we have because of her.

My Mom sacrificed a lot in her life so that the three of us could have what we needed. She made it look so easy back then, but as you get older and you revisit the past, you see that it wasn’t as easy as she made it out to be. It was because of who she was as a person that made it out to be easy.

My mom would often go without to make sure that we all were taken care of and never said a word in complaint about it. Besides taking care of all of us, my mom would and still does anything she can for others. She will sacrifice her own happiness to make sure that others are happy. My mom is one of the best people I know. Not many people could or would be as selfless as she is. I love you, Mom.

Why do you feel your Mom deserves the spotlight?

My mom deserve the spotlight for her unwavering way and need to take care of everyone. She wants everyone to be happy and will help anyone in need or do what she can to make sure that others feel loved and happy. She has and continues to put others before herself. She has an amazing, giving heart.
