Toms River PBA Receives State Honor

The union that represents sworn officers, detectives, safety officers and corporals was honored on Sunday.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — The Toms River Police Benevolent Association Local 137 has been honored by the New Jersey PBA as the Local of the Year.

The award was announced Sunday during the PBA Valor Awards.

The PBA represents the patrol officers, detectives, safety officers and corporals of the Toms River Police Department.

"The executive board was honored to accept the award on behalf of all the hard-working members of PBA Local 137, who continue to show up and do a difficult job every day and provide the best service possible to the residents of Toms River," the PBA said in a post sharing the honor.

The award was presented to the PBA's executive board: President Anthony Paciulli, 1st Vice President Ryan Nani; 2nd Vice President Michael Hader; State Delegate Walter Herman; Treasurer Alexander Van Lew; Sergeant-At-Arms Anthony Carafa and trustees Brendan Hirtes and John Carolan.
