Tornado Warnings Issued For Ocean, Monmouth Counties
The warning is in effect until 8 p.m. for northeastern Ocean and southeastern Monmouth counties.
OCEAN AND BURLINGTON COUNTIES, NJ — A tornado warning is in effect until 8 p.m. for northeastern Ocean and southeastern Monmouth counties.
At 7:39 p.m., severe thunderstorms capable of producing both tornadoes and extensive straight line wind damage were located over Ramtown, or 8 miles north of Toms River, moving east at 60 mph.
Locations impacted include: Toms River, Asbury Park, Lakewood, Howell, Tinton Falls, Manasquan, Point Pleasant Beach, Farmingdale, Mantoloking, Leisure Village, Allenwood, Dover Beaches North, Leisure Village East, Ramtown, Brick Township, Collingwood Park, Point Pleasant, Neptune City, Brielle and Spring Lake Heights. Roadways that could be impacted include: Interstate 195 in New Jersey between mile markers 28 and 34 and Garden State Parkway between mile markers 86 and 102.

Residents should take cover and move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building and avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
