Warming Centers Open To Homeless During Storm In Ocean County

Sites that host Code Blue shelters are offering assistance during the storm.

OCEAN COUNTY, NJ — Warming centers have been opened in Ocean County to offer shelter to people who do not have homes in the midst of the nor'easter moving through New Jersey.

The warming centers are open through Saturday morning, authorities said.

CSPNJ, at the Ocean County-owned building at 1959 Route 9, Toms River. It has a capacity of 40 people. Call 848-338-5498 for information.

Warm Hearts, 764 Ocean Ave., Lakewood. It has a capacity of 30 people. Call 732-900-1724 for information.

Family Promise of the Jersey Shore at HABcore Harbor, 2445 Windsor Ave., Toms River. Opens 6 p.m. Thursday through Saturday morning. Capacity is two families of up to five family members each. Call 609-384-2195 for information.

According to the January 2025 Point-In-Time homeless counts by Monarch Housing Group, there were 577 people who were homeless in Ocean County.
