Windows Smashed, Cash Stolen At Bagel Shop, Deli In Toms River

Both businesses are on Fischer Boulevard and the burglaries were in the early morning hours, Toms River police said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Authorities are investigating after a deli and a bagel shop on Fischer Boulevard were burglarized, Toms River police said.

The burglar or burglars smashed the front windows at Breakin Bread Eatery, 1177 Fischer Blvd., and at New York Water Bagel, 542 Fischer Blvd., during the overnight hours, Lt. Gene Bachonski said.

Breakin Bread Eatery was burglarized early Tuesday morning, the owner said.

The burglar or burglars smashed the window at Breakin Bread with a brick and stole a safe containing cash, he said. At New York Water Bagel, a paver was used and cash was taken, he said.

The amount of cash stolen was not disclosed.
