'Code Orange' Air Quality Alert For Morris County Friday

Allergy sufferers may feel it the worst, National Weather Service reports.

The leaves are beginning to change colors and the temperatures are becoming mild and comfortable.

But it’s hard to enjoy the changing of the seasons through sneezing and itchy eyes.

The National Weather Service issued an Air Quality Alert Thursday for Friday, Sept. 18, saying air pollution concentrations within the region may become unhealthy for sensitive groups.

Those sensitive groups include children, asthma sufferers, those with heart or lung disease, and the elderly.

The effects of the air pollution can be minimized by avoiding strenuous activity or exercise outdoors, the service said.

The forecast shows patchy fog in the morning before 9 a.m., clearing out and becoming sunny with a high temperature of 81 degrees and calm winds the rest of the day. Lows will drop to 58 degrees overnight into Saturday.
