Bradley Beach Brother and Sister Duo Charged With Multiple Thefts from Local Homes
Matthew and Christine Byrne, a brother and sister duo from Bradley Beach, have been charged with stealing patio furniture and garage items.
A brother and sister from Bradley Beach have been charged with multiple counts of theft after stealing from several borough homes and trading the items in for cash, according to Monmouth County court records.
Christine Byrne, 40, received nine 3rd and 4th degree charges including Criminal Trespass and Theft, with her co-conspirator listed as her brother, Matthew.
According to court records, Christine removed patio and lawn furniture, valued at $1,250 from a Bradley Beach home on Central Avenue on or about November 14.

On or about the same date, Byrne is also alleged to have entered a rear cottage at the same address and removed two air conditioning units and an estimated $1,500 worth of metal from the backyard of the property, according to court records. Theft charges were also filed for a $6,000 patio set stolen from a home on Brinley Avenue, and, at a neighboring property, $750 worth of stolen metal items from a rear garage the accused is alleged to have broken into and entered.
Byrne received additional charges for trading in all of the stolen items for cash at Mazza Recycling, along with her brother Matthew’s help, according to court records.

Byrne was arrested and transferred to the Monmouth County Correctional Institute in lieu of bail set by Judge Richard Thompson, with a court appearance scheduled for November 23.
An arrest is not a conviction, and every defendant is presumed innocent until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt at trial.
