DWI, Assault By Auto, Drug Possession: Wall Police Blotter

Wall Police reported five incidents of driving while intoxicated from Dec. 23 through Dec. 28.

WALL, NJ — Wall Police reported incidents of driving while intoxicated, assault by auto, drug possession and more from Dec. 23 through Dec. 28.

Dec. 23
Candace Coppola, 62, of Toms River, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and possession of a controlled dangerous substance following a motor vehicle accident on Route 70.

Coppola was processed and released in accordance with John’s Law, which requires police to impound the driver's vehicle for 12 hours following their arrest.

To be released from custody, the driver must also contact someone who will take responsibility for them and ensure they do not drive while still under the influence.

Dec. 24
Harlee Clancy, 24, of Wall, was charged with driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle accident on Belmar Blvd. Clance was processed and released in accordance with John’s Law.

Dec. 27
Kimberly Ellery, 47, of Manasquan, was charged with driving while intoxicated and assault by auto following a motor vehicle accident on Atlantic Ave. Ellery was processed and released in accordance with John’s Law.

Jason Melendez, 50 of Toms River, was charged with driving while intoxicated following an investigation on Route 34. Melendez was also found with a warrant out of Dover Township. He was processed and released in accordance with John’s Law after Dover Township authorities granted him release on his own recognizance.

Dec. 28
Stephen Byard, 59 of Asbury Park, was charged with driving while intoxicated, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and drug paraphernalia following a motor vehicle stop on Route 35.

Byard was processed and released on a summons and in accordance with John’s Law.
