Go Fly a Kite! Belmar Kite Festival on September 7 on the Beach
Come fly a kite on the beautiful Belmar beach on September 7.

Kite flying is fun, and where better to fly one than at Belmar’s superb ocean beaches!
The Belmar Business Partnership (BBP) is sponsoring the Belmar Kite Festival, which will take place Sunday September 7 on Belmar’s ocean beachfront from 11am until 4pm.
Professional kite flyers will demonstrate their skills between the Second and Third Avenue Beaches. Families and individuals can fly their kites from the Fourth Avenue Beach southward.

There is no cost to enter. Setup time begins at 10am. If you do not have a kite check first with Belmar’s retailers in the downtown and on the beachfront as some of them may still have kites left in stock.
The BBP is holding the Kite Festival to honor the Belmar Public Library and the Belmar Woman’s Club, both of which are celebrating their 100th anniversaries this year.

“Kite flying is a fun, family-friendly activity that has always been a part of Belmar’s beachfront thanks to great ocean breezes, the sand, and the sunshine. The Kite Festival offers a venue where everyone gets to fly their kites together at a time of year when our beaches are a little less crowded, which gives plenty of room for the flyers and their fans,” says Sal Marchese, President of Belmar Business Partnership. “We chose to honor the Belmar Public Library and the Belmar Woman’s Club with the Kite Festival because these organizations help make our community a great place to live. We hope their staff and members come out September 7 and fly their kites too.”
“The Belmar Public Library is delighted that the BBP has chosen to honor us, along with the Woman’s Club, on our 100th anniversary,” says Rosemarie Korbelak, Library Director. “Belmar is a wonderful community and we are always searching for family-friendly activities to offer to our patrons. Holding the Kite Festival on Belmar’s beautiful beachfront is the perfect opportunity to bring everyone together for a fun-filled day. Hopefully this will become an annual tradition and we look forward to working closely with the BBP on other events in the future. “
“We are proud to be honored by the Belmar Business Partnership on the occasion of the Kite Festival,” says Rosemary Tormey, President of the Belmar Woman’s Club. “As we celebrate the 100th of our club, we will strive to continue our endeavors to “VOLUNTEER – FROM THE HEART”. We very much appreciate the support of the Belmar community.”
