Stop & Shop Donates 1,000 Thanksgiving Turkeys to Fulfill During the Food Bank's Annual Thanksgiving Food Distribution Effort
Stop & Shop donated 1,000 Thanksgiving Turkeys to Fulfill for the Food Bank’s annual Thanksgiving food distribution. The donation is part of Stop & Shop’s annual Turkey Express program which provides more than 25,000 turkeys to food banks and food pantries in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut , Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Fulfill’s annual drive-up distribution started two hours earlier to be able to serve the unprecedented amount of area residents in need.
“With many of our neighbors facing continued hardship, the work that food banks and hunger relief organizations continue to do for our communities is essential, especially during the holiday season,” said Gordon Reid, President of Stop & Shop. “We are thankful for their partnership and that of our supplier partner Shady Brook Farms as we work together to help ensure more families are able to enjoy a holiday meal with loved ones this year.”
“There are more than 107,000 food insecure residents throughout Monmouth and Ocean Counties, including close to 30,000 children,” said Triada Stampas, president and CEO of Fulfill. “We are proud to partner with Stop & Shop to help provide our neighbors in need with turkeys and all the Thanksgiving trimmings to make a delicious, healthy family meal.”

- Fulfill is currently distributing the equivalent of one million meals per month through its network of partners in Monmouth and Ocean Counties.
- Fulfill is on track to distribute 15 million pounds of food this fiscal year.
- Since January 2022, Fulfill has seen a 60% percent increase in need. This need is currently higher than peak pandemic levels.
- Fulfill anticipates distributing more than 13,000 turkeys this Thanksgiving.
- During the distribution Fulfill also provided beneficiaries all the trimmings including: vegetables, cranberry sauce, boxed potatoes, boxed stuffing, gravy, canned soup and broth, spices, baking items and baking mixes.
