Driver Entrapped In Vehicle Rollover, Wall Township Police Say
The accident led to a road closure on Route 34 that lasted for two hours, Wall Police said.
WALL, NJ — A driver was trapped in his vehicle after it hit a utility pole and flipped over early Wednesday morning, Wall Police said.
The accident occurred at 5:20 a.m. on Wednesday. Police responded to a report of a vehicle that struck a utility pole and flipped over near Route 34 and Airport Boulevard.
The driver of the vehicle, a 23-year-old man from Wall (whose name has not been released), was traveling north on Route 34 when he veered off the road and struck a utility pole, police said. The vehicle then overturned onto its roof, temporarily trapping him inside.

Emergency responders were able to remove the driver from the vehicle and bring him to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for evaluation, police said.
As a result of the crash, police said Route 34 northbound was closed at West Hurley Pond Road for two hours while repairs were made to the damaged utility pole.

One lane was reopened during the repair process, and all lanes of Route 34 were fully reopened by 3 p.m., according to police.
The accident remains under investigation and charges are pending, police said.
