DWI, Fraud, Hit-And-Run Crash Reported In Warren

WARREN, NJ — The Warren Police Blotter for the past week included a number of incidents including fraud, car burglary, a DWI arrest, and more.
On Jan. 16, a motor vehicle burglary was reported on Morning Glory Road that occurred at around 4:30 a.m. Someone gained entry into the car through an unlocked driver's side door. No items were reported stolen.
On Jan. 13 at 5:58 p.m., a 911 call reported a hit-and-run crash on Hillcrest Road near Interstate 78. One vehicle left the scene before police arrived. No injuries were reported. Police said both vehicles were driving northbound when one vehicle aggressively changed lanes hitting the rear of the second vehicle driven by a 47-year-old Somerville woman. No services were needed.

On Jan. 13 at 1:16 p.m., a resident of Stiles Road reported an incident of fraud. The resident said he mailed a check through the Warren Township Post Office which was intercepted by an unknown person and altered. The account has been closed with no monetary loss.
On Jan. 12 at 6:21 p.m., a Warren resident reported that her wallet was stolen from ACME or the parking lot. Charges had been made on her debit account for an unknown amount.

On Jan. 11 at 9:24 p.m., a 24-year-old man from Readington was arrested for DWI following a motor vehicle stop on Liberty Corner Road onto Interstate 78. Summonses were issued for DWI, refusal to submit to a breath test, careless driving, reckless driving, using a cell phone while driving, and unregistered vehicle. His vehicle was towed from the scene and he was released pending a court appearance.
On Jan. 10 at 2:09 p.m., a Stonehedge Court resident reported that someone made fraudulent purchases after accessing her personal bank and Costco accounts. Both accounts have been closed with no money lost.
